I used to have curly, frizzy hair and it was so frustrating to handle them. I looked like a ghost with hair all over my face and the worst part was I could not style them. I thought this is how my hair texture is so let it be. But later I came to know the reason behind frizziness. Hair becomes frizzy due to dehydration or lack of proper hair care regime. The humidity or moisture in hair also leads to dry, damaged and frizzy hair.
Not to worry because frizzy hair problem can be resolved and that too without spending money on expensive products. All you need is few homemade face mask from your kitchen ingredients and proper hair care regime. So let’s get started.
Go for a shampoo with high glycerin content: Always choose a shampoo which is sulfate free and high in glycerin. It provides proper moisture to otherwise dull and frizzy hair. It basically acts as a coating to your hair and prevents any kind of damage and breakage.
The conditioner is a must: Skipping on to conditioner means allowing your hair to soak all the moisture making your hair dry and lifeless. So for frizzy hair look for a conditioner with hydrating ingredients like shea butter and glycerin.
Use coconut oil: We have heard enough about the benefits of coconut oil for hair. But do you know it also helps in treating frizziness? Coconut oil makes your hair soft and smooth. So always massage your hair with coconut oil and leave it for about 1 hour and then wash it off as you normally do. Another way to make your hair smooth is to add a teaspoon of coconut oil in your shampoo and then wash them. You will see a lot of difference in your hair.
Egg mask to get rid of frizz: Egg a rich source of protein is great for hair. It nourishes your hair and makes them healthy and smooth. To make egg hair mask you just need to whisk the egg well until it becomes a smooth paste and apply it on your hair for half an hour. Or alternatively, you can also add almond oil drops in egg mask and apply it all over your hair.Leave it for 30 minutes and then wash it off with shampoo.
Let your hair dry naturally: Avoid using any kind of heat as it will dehydrate your hair and make them dry. Let your hair dry naturally.
Don’t shampoo your hair too often: We all want clean hair, free of dirt and for that, we shampoo our hair too often. Even I used to wash my hair every two days. But shampooing hair regularly takes out all the natural moisturizer and leave hair dry and frizzy.
Avocado hair mask: This mask is one of my favorites as it makes my hair so smooth. Avocado is a rich source of vitamin C and E which helps in repairing damaged hair and nourish them well. To make hair mask, mash the avocado and add yogurt in to make a smooth paste. Apply this paste to your hair then wash it off after 45 minutes.
Avoid sleeping on a cotton pillow: If your hair are super frizzy then avoid sleeping on a cotton pillow as it will suck up all the moisture from your hair make them even drier. Use can also tie a silk scarf on your hair while sleeping.
